Worship Arts

Worship is a term used so often to describe one small music-driven facet of a Sunday morning church service.  We at D1Naz seek to worship God not only in song, but in all things we do - both during and beyond a Sunday gathering.  Such worship is also characterized by prayer, praise, personal testimony, participation in the sacraments, and the proclamation of the Word.

With that in mind, we also are keenly aware that music and arts hold a great significance in unifying God's people in praise, and that He is honored and delighted when we proclaim His greatness with lifted voices and instruments:

"Praise the Lord!  Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven!  Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness!  Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;  praise him with the lyre and harp!  Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;  praise him with strings and flutes!  Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals.  Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!  Praise the Lord!" - Psalm 150

As a community of worshippers, we welcome God's call to fulfill the vision of helping others “Grow in Faith,” “Love People,” and “Serve the World” through the ministry of music and arts.  As a result, you’ll find that we are passionate about praising Jesus both inside and outside the walls of Decatur First Nazarene.
